The vast majority of my lists have multiple tasks. For each, I have to click on Checklist for each new list. How can I make the checklist a default item in the list box - possibly instead of description?

@Pat Reid I think I'm having some trouble understanding your terminology. Can you please clarify what you mean by "click on Checklist for each new list" and "default item in the list box"?
Sorry! When I create a CARD and want to add a checklist, I open the card details pop-up and then have to click on Checklist. I would like to make Checklist a default field like Description aand Add Comment
