Locked out by legacy Trello 2FA — no authenticator entry or backup codes

My account has legacy Trello two-factor authentication from before the Atlassian migration. Atlassian two-step verification shows DISABLED, but every new login (Android app, laptop browser) hits the old "Two Factor Authentication" code screen. I no longer have the authenticator entry or backup codes. This is a free account so I can't open a support ticket. Could an Atlassian team member please initiate removal of the legacy 2FA? I understand there's a 24-hour security delay.

Hi @roxare , the General Inquiries form is the one to use here, it isn't gated behind a paid plan the way the regular support ticket portal is.

  • You're right that a free account can't open a ticket through the standard support portal, that part isn't a misunderstanding on your side.
  • Legacy two-factor with lost codes has no self-service reset, Trello's own guidance for that exact screen is to contact support directly rather than go through the account recovery flow, since that flow only applies to the newer Atlassian account two-step verification, not the old one you're stuck on.

Nobody in the Community, including staff who occasionally post here, can trigger that removal for you, it has to go through the General Inquiries channel above so a human can verify your identity and start that 24 hour window you already know about.
