Je n'arrive plus à me connecter à mon Board

Willy
August 14, 2026

Bonjour,

Merci,

Willy

Hi @Willy , :)
Hope you are doing well,
Welcome to the community!!

I've looked into your account and the board you mentioned. After checking the activity logs, I can see that your account was removed from the board on 2026-08-13 via the "Leave Board" action taken from an Android device.

At this point, the only remaining admin/member on the board is a @student account. Since Trello's access controls are managed entirely by board admins, the quick way to regain access is to have that @student account log in and re-add you to the board. Here's what you'll need to do:

  1. Log into the @student Trello account.

  2. Open the board and select Share.

  3. Go to the Board members tab.

  4. Invite your account back to the board and set your role to Admin (to avoid this situation in the future).

If you're unable to access the @student account, you can find more options for recovering board access in this article: Recover a Workspace or board when the admin is gone | Trello | Atlassian Support

Thanks.

Hello @Rishabh S ,

Thanks for your message.

I'd like to share everything I have, in case it helps you find a way to restore my access.

What happened:
I don't recall ever intentionally leaving this board. If the "Leave Board" action really was triggered from an Android device on 2026-08-13, it must have been accidental (a mis-tap in the mobile app), I have no memory of doing this deliberately, and I have no reason to have left a board I actively use.

What I know / have access to:
- I know my old email address (the one originally used to create/admin this board), even though I can no longer log into that inbox: the account itself appears to no longer exist or is unreachable.
- I have the ID (not an email address) and password associated with that old account, saved in my password manager. I think this is the Trello login ID and I'm happy to share it securely if that helps you verify ownership.
- My current Gmail account was set as admin on this board on 2025-08-09, and I used it without issue until 2026-08-13.

What I can offer:
- I'm willing to upgrade this Workspace to Trello Standard or Premium if that would give you (or me) a supported path to reclaim admin control of the board.
- I can provide any proof of identity or account history you need (screenshots, the original invite email, timestamps, etc.) to confirm I'm the legitimate owner of both the old and new accounts.

What I'm asking:
Given that I can't access the old inbox to receive a login link, and the only remaining member is that old (@student) account, is there any way for your team to:
1. Verify my ownership through the old ID/password I have, and/or
2. Restore my admin access directly, and/or
3. Advise on any other route to recover this board.

This board contains data I've built up over several years, so any option you can offer, even a manual/exceptional review would be genuinely appreciated.

Thank you,
Willy

Hey @Willy,
I understand this might have been an accidental action.

I checked the workspace this board is in, and it seems your email is not a member of the workspace, so upgrading to a paid plan won't work here.

Also, since this is a free workspace, there is no billing information attached here for us to verify and help you regain access, and since email is the primary method of verification in Trello, the only way currently is to reach out to your old email provider, ask them to temporarily reactivate your email, and then log in to try to regain access to the board.

That said, I am consulting with my team on any other options we might have to regain access to your board.

I will keep you updated.
Thanks

Hey @Willy

I have consulted with my team. The only way to restore board access is to have your old email reactivated with the email provider.

As there are no billing details attached to the workspace and your account is not the workspace admin, we don't have any other option to help you regain access to the board.

I understand this is not the resolution you were hoping for, but due to security and privacy concerns, we won't be able to help: https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/why-support-cant-grant-access-to-your-account/

Thanks

Hey @Rishabh S ,

The older email has been deleted and can't be recovered.

Come on guys I am a Product Manager and I can tell that your tools are nice and useful but are way improvable in many aspects (I am regular user of your suite).

You raise a security or privacy concern, you must be kidding since I have all the info except the access to my former email adress which has been DELETED. I have indeed:

- My former email adress

- My former Trello ID

- My former password

- Any identity proofs

I want to connect with my former email adress or with my former Trello ID without having the need to reach my former box mail which has been deleted: is it understood and clear?

Thanks for your help,

Willy

Hey @Willy

I completely understand how frustrating it must be to feel locked out of your account, and I genuinely wish there were more options available here.

That said, as I mentioned, there are only two ways we're able to verify account ownership on our end:

  1. Your email address is associated with the account, used to recover your password at https://id.atlassian.com/login/resetpassword

  2. Billing details, if you're on a paid Trello plan

For security reasons, we're not able to change the email address on an account directly. This policy exists to protect accounts from social hacking, where someone could impersonate you and request an email change to take over your account.

You can find more details on this in our support article here: Recovering your Trello account

Thank you.
