We are having an issue with archived cards.
People are responding to emails days later from the original send date. Original email has generated a Trello Card. Card then gets completed and same day of completion is then archived. Days later, people respond to original email. We are not receiving the response because the Trello card has been archived.
My question is, can the original email(card) be "automatically" moved over to a "queue" status when someone replies to email message?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you - M. Fowler
@Meghan Fowler , yes, this is a Butler automation you set up, not something Trello does by itself. Native email to board replies do get added as comments on the original card when they're within Trello's 7 day comment threading window and include the board's email address, but that doesn't undo the archiving on its own.
Create a Butler rule with the trigger "when a comment is posted to a card", then add two actions: unarchive the card, and move the card to the top of list "Queue". That combination restores the card and routes it exactly where you want as soon as someone replies.
One thing worth knowing: past 7 days from the original email, a reply stops being recognized as the same thread and creates a brand new card instead of a comment, so this rule won't help for replies that land later than that, those just show up as fresh cards on their own.
