Individual Task Completion Monitoring

Robert_Underwood February 6, 2020

Hey there,

Apologies in advance if I'm being dense and have missed it but I am looking for a way to assign multiple members to one task with the caveat being that I need each member to be able to sign off on having completed said task (accountability and task completion is an issue for us). I'm sure I can duplicate the task and assign it to each member but having to do that 20 times (the number of staff we have) for 8 + tasks means.. well you can do the math. Its a load of work and it would probably be quicker for me to follow up with each staff member individually over WhatsApp or the like. Does this request make sense at all and if so do you by any chance have a solution for me, pretty please? I've been through a good few other task management solutions such as yours and always hit this snag.

Thanks so much,
Rob

Hi

You can try this :

( or see power up approvals)

Add a checklist titled Approvals to the card.

Each item of this checklist corresponds to an approver.

Create 2 rules :

When a item is added to checklist "Approvals", add member @{checklistitemname}
When checklist "Approvals" is complete, move the card to list "approved".

Just,

Add the approvers in the checklist, they will be added automatically as members (1st rule)

When a task is done, the approver checks his item in the checklist approvals.

Then you can trigger an action when the checklist is completed (2nd rule)

Thank you so much @Ludo

Would it exceptionally impolite to ask you for you to shoot a quick Loom video? I've tried to run the rules until I'm blue in the face but am not making much progress.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@Robert_Underwood Hi!

 There's a free, easy-to-use Trello power-up which will help with this - https://trello.com/power-ups/5d408675aa4ba76abafabfc1/approvals-for-trello

This will solve your issues of multiple approvers and will trace accountability no problem, the power-up is commonly used, and is active on 10,000+ boards.
