If I remove a member from our account will they keep their individual account and boards?

The individual still has access to their email, however are no longer in our department

Hi Troylyn! 

Yes, removing someone from your workspace only removes their access to shared boards. Their personal Trello account, individual boards, and everything they own stays untouched.
