I have a small business that has many different parts (teaching classes, taking classes, pet portraits, illustration, and editing a journal) I do have automations set up to filter things to one board, but wondering if this is the most efficient way, too busy? What do other people do? Thanks!

Hi Jennifer,

Using separate boards for each area of your business is a practical setup, especially when the workflows are different.

Instead of copying cards to one master board, you could use Cross-Board Reporting & Dashboards to create a centralized overview while keeping the original cards on their respective boards. This may reduce clutter and the number of automations you need to maintain.

Hi @Jennifer Lucas ,

Do you need to have everything on one board? I feel like it would be better to have multiple boards for each business part, rather than having everything in one place.

Potentially, if you need a master board, you could use a specific power-up to bidirectionally sync cards 👀

Instead of just filtering everything to one board, use Butler/automation rules to automate the "hand-off" between boards. For example, you can set a rule to automatically copy a card to your master board only when it reaches a specific status, like "In Progress". You can also use Card Buttons for manual triggers when you want more control over which tasks are consolidated.

All in all, it depends on how you run things, but it's worth exploring. 🤔

Cheers,
Tobi
