I'd like to assign a unique identifier to each tile in my board.

Ideally, I'd like these to auto-populate when the tile is created and it would be even better if these are searchable.

Hi @Christine Robertson ! Welcome to the community :) I'd suggest using butler to auto add a unique identifier to your cards. One idea is to prefix cards with their unique board and card ID. 

So let's say the board name is "Project X". Any card added to that board should be prefixed with "PX" and then the card number. 

The first card added to the board would be pre-fixed with "PX-1", the second card would be pre-fixed with "PX-2", and so on.

The butler automation to achieve this could look something like this:

when a card is added to the board, rename the card to "PX-{cardnumber} {cardname}"

Yes! You can search for card titles in the board search, as well as the global search :)
