About a week ago, I got logged out of my account, and it will not recognize my login anymore. When I try to log in, it prompts me to sign in as a new user, even though I have years of work product in there.
I hope there is a way to get that work back!!!

First of all, welcome to the community! ✨
To answer your question, it sometimes happens due to duplicate account issue. You can log off your Atlassian account. Login back to Atlassian and from there try to access Trello.
You can also try resetting your password as Gaurav had mentioned above OR you can go through this link to see the different solutions provided for each step.
