I am the creator and administrator of a Trello board called “MARKETING NOLA.”
I accidentally selected the “Close board” option from the Trello iPhone app because I wanted to remove the board from my view, as I am no longer working on that project.
After doing this, the app showed an error saying that the operation could not be completed. However, I later received an email notification confirming that the board had been closed. The other member of the board also received a notification that they had been removed from it.
The problem is that the board does not appear in my Closed Boards section, and when I try to open the board using the link from the email, I receive the following message:
“This board could not be loaded. Check that you have permission to view it and try again.”
I am using the same Trello account that I used to create and manage the board.
I did not permanently delete the board. I only selected the “Close board” option in the iPhone app.
Could someone please help me recover or reopen the board and regain access to it? The board contains important work and content that I need to recover.
Thank you very much for your help.

Hi @NOLA MKT ,
Can you verify this in a browser at https://trello.com/my/boards? Scroll to the bottom and select View all closed boards. The mobile app can sometimes fail to refresh this list correctly.
You could also try this > Direct URL Access: Open the board link from your email in an Incognito/Private browser window. This forces a fresh login and can bypass cached permission errors. 🤔
Cheers,
Tobi
Hi Tobi, thank you for your help. I already checked from a browser and scrolled to the bottom of the boards page, but the board does not appear under “View all closed boards.” I also checked from different devices/platforms and I still can’t find or access it. I was the person who originally created the board. Is there any other way to recover it or check if it was permanently deleted?🥹

Hey @Lizzy Mcguire ,
I believe the official support team can check this in the backend and within their logs 👀
However, to reach out to support, you'd need to be on a paid plan. What you can do, as a workaround, is maybe start a free trial and then submit a ticket through here Atlassian Support 🎟️
I'd really like to help, but there's not much I/we on the forums can do regarding this 🫤
Cheers,
Tobi
