How to setup authenicator app

I enable the two step authenication, but when logging in it asked to enter the code from authenticator app.  I tried to setup google authenicator on my phone app, but it asked for a key.  Tried my recovery key,but that did not work,  so which key is it referring to?  I also tried to search apps through Atassian Marketplace to connect apps through Atlassian account, but google authenticator app does not show up to download.  How does this work then?  Thanks.
