How to install hourly repeating reminders (nags) for card

Belinda Welland December 31, 2022

I want to create a yearly journal where I can take hourly notes on separate cards for each day - I have a board called 2023, with Lists for each month (JAN, FEB etc) and a card for each date (1st, 2nd, 3rd etc). and I will write a comment each hour.

I thought if I set a due date for 11.59pm on each card, and then have an hourly NAG reminder with desktop notifications that would be a good way to remind me to complete the hourly comment. But how do I set up those repeating notifications?

Or is there a better way?

Thanks 👍

@Belinda Welland - hourly notifications, wow! 😅

I don't think Trello's Calendar (scheduled) Automation rules can do this - you can execute rules (like send an email) on a daily basis, or x hours before a due date.

What is it that you're trying to solve for?

Hi Dave,

Essentially I need to keep a track of what tasks I have started/finished/etc each day so important things don't get missed and there is a trail of what was completed when. But I have a terrible memory, so I want to write it down every hour rather than waiting til the end of the day. So I need a reminder to pop up every hour so I can fill in the comment at that time.

After lots of experimenting the system I have come up with is to set the due date for 6am and an automation that moves the due date by 1 hour every time the task becomes due and sends a notification at the time it is due. I would prefer a desktop notification, but this will work if I can't find something better.

Any hints on how to make the system better?

Cheers

@Belinda Welland - I would consider a system dedicated to reminders, especially since Trello (out of the box) doesn't provide the level of reminders granularity that you're asking for.

Good luck!
