How to combine Tello accounts

Some time ago I set up an account with Trello under one email address. When re-invited to that board yesterday I tried to log in, but was stopped by the need for a code from Google Authenticator. I don't have an entry in Authenticator for Trello, so that failed. I don't have a 24-character recovery key. And when asking for the next step, to have instructions emailed to me, It has been over 24 hours and I have not seen any such email show up. 

I have (apparently) an account also under a different address, and that is what allowed me to access the Trello board to which I was invited. 

How do I get Google Authenticator set up for the original address if I can't log into that account? Or, can I merge the old email with the other one that works?

Oh, and to increase the fun: I tried changing the password, which was successful. However, it still wants the Authenticator code when I try to log in with the new password. And around and around and around we go...
