How do I search card descriptions while I'm in a board?

I feel silly asking this question. But here goes:

• I'm in a board.
• I hit 'F' to filter.
• I start typing the text of a word that is in the description of one of the cards on the board. 
• The filter produces no results.

Does the filter functionality not filter the content of card descriptions? 

I can see I can use the search box top left, which returns ALL cards on all my boards. But this is pretty unhelpful and hard to work with.

I just want to filter/search the board I'm on, to zero in on any cards containing the text I'm looking for.

Hey Dave!

Filter searches do not search card descriptions, Only searching will search for terms across several boards, or card descriptions.

If you're looking to search by board, I'd recommend adding an additional operator such as "board:boardname".  Check more tips on searching here
