I am using my same user name as when I worked for a previous company. My boss has created a team at my new company and I would like to not have access to the team and boards from my previous employer.

Community moderators have prevented the ability to post new answers.
You will always be able to remove yourself from a team. Scroll down until you find your own username, where the "Remove..." button will be replaced by a "Leave..." button. If you are the only admin of a team, you will need to make someone else an admin before leaving, or delete the team.
