How do I make "search" visible on a board?

I would swear that I used to be able to see the "Search" box on the top right of any board. But I added some power ups and now I have to click "... Show Menu" to access search. I I would really like to be able to see it on the board. And I  have never accessed the "Google Drive" power up from this corner of the board.

Is there any way to customize the screen so the search field for the board is always visible?

I think there are some changes underfoot to make this visible up there.  It could be you were in an experiment where they were testing it.  The tldr; though is that right now, you can't customize that, and if you want to Filter the board (I think the changes also rename Search BACK to Filter, it's original name) you have to open the side menu.
