How do I change the layout of a card's information?

This new user interface that activated today on every card takes up nearly half the screen with information I don't need or want. The entire right side of a card's view is "comments and activity" which used to be appropriately far below when scrolling down. Is this permanent and unchangeable? That would be unbearably sad.

I see. I was about to be very happy. That almost helped, except it doesn't utilize the newly released screen real estate. This lack of adaptive use of my screen has been a long standing problem. As a UX designer I sympathize with the challenges. Thank you for pointing that out. The most recent update has made usability worse, unfortunately.
