I know about card repeat powerup, and also the automation rules but I want to have a way to kind of combine the capabilities of the 2. Card repeat repeats the cards right, but automation has a "UNIQUE" factor. Can I get that UNIQUE factor in card repeater or something similar??
I also see automation has a 'copy card from list to list' ability, but that doesn't have the UNIQUE option...that would solve all this, because I have one list thats a template I could copy it all from only if the card doesn't already exist in the list.
I am basically building a recurring planner where I must check off the tasks each day by moving them to the done pile, and then at the end of the day I want to repopulate that list with the same tasks. I could write a bunch of rules to make the cards automatically brute forced but wanted to ask if there's a better way first. Thanks
Trying to think of the simplest solution, you could have a Recurring Tasks list, which you then
Recurring Tasks | To Do | Doing | Done |
You don't need a "unique element" if you separate the recurring "Template" cards into the Recurring Tasks lists because the repeater will copy the card directly into To Do
Am I missing something?
Thanks

Yeah the problem is what if I don't manage to do the tasks that day? Then when it repeats I get some duplicate cards in the same list I think. I want the list to refresh each day with all the cards without me having to do it.

Do you need to keep the cards in the Done list?
If not, you could have a scheduled automation to move the tasks from Done to To Do at the end of each day? Would that work?
You can couple it with an automation that triggers on "When a card in list "Done is moved to list "To Do" do.....
Where you could move date, rename, change description etc....

Oh nice I didn't know I could do that, that could work....except when I move it to the done list I usually use a label color for "done". Is a there a way to remove the done label as its moved back into the to do list? While retaining any other labels?
But there's no way to do the exact way I said in the first post then, right? We're just thinking of workarounds now?
EDIT: Ok this workaround is great thank you! I set an extra rule to whenever something moves out of done remove the done label and this'll work fine! Even better in fact because I was keeping a separate list copy just to put comments in and now with them being the same cards moving around instead of blank copies that's unnecessary

Also if I have to manually write out all the rules in automation to repeat the cards from scratch, is there a way to do it easier if the cards are already in a list to point to?
