How can I have multiple new lines for spatial separation in a card description?

If I press enter multiple times, it doesn't actually visually separate (trello collapses multiple new lines into one new line) in the card description.

Gotcha.. I understand what you're asking now. I don't believe this is possible with the markdown language that is used by Trello. You can see more about the markdown here . I've tried on my board to test this for you, but nothing is working.
