Hi, what is the best way to export boards in Monday.com to Trello?

Unfortunately Trello doesn't have the same capabilities to import from other tools like you commonly see.  Unito would certainly do it but is costly.  

I would most likely export the Monday boards to CSV and import them into Trello using a Power-up such as:

Trello Import by Bluecat 

Excelefy Trello Import/Export 

Smart Import 

To answer your question on Power-ups, these can be used for any subscription of Trello but if you are importing data from Monday fields into Trello, you'll want to have at least Trello Standard to be able to map those fields to Trello Custom fields..
The 3 recommendations above are 3rd-party power-ups and they may not be free. 

Just for me own geeky curiosity, why the move from Monday to Trello?

And to answer your question, we are making the move to Trello because we are just a small team of people (5), and Trello seems to be more user-friendly for us. We've had Monday for over a year and we don't use it consistently -- there's too much going on for our needs.
