Help - cannot login to my account

I usually stay logged in, but today it asked to me to login which happens every now and again. 

 

I know they have a new system where they text you an authenticfication code but this has never worked for me - my phone never gets a code, so I have my Emergency Recovery Key saved and I used this the last time and I was able to login, but this time it is telling me that it is not valid (I copied and pasted it from where I have it saved first try and then on the second go I typed it in manually - neither option worked). 

 

What do I do - I know there is an option to contact them to get that sorted but it says it is long and difficult and I do not want to loose access to my account - my life is stored on there!!!! 

 

So annoyed with the hassle of this 2 factor authentication- why can't they just send an email with a code like some other businesses do). I should have tried to contact them about the phone authentication not working but I didn't bother because I had stored my Key. Why is my key now saying it's not valid. It absolutely is (I used it before and I have a screenshot of the Key)

I just deleted the key option as way too much hassle to do that.
