Google has told me Trello is free for the minimum usage but when I joined it said that is is only free for 10 day trial then will need to pay?  Is this right as the search states its free

Trello has a free tier as you can see here:

https://trello.com/pricing

However, when you sign up for the first time, it auto enrols you into a 14 day free trial of Trello premium.  This is done without any obligation and you don't have to enter any card details. Once the free trial has ended, your subscription is automatically downgraded to free.

I don't agree that the free trial should be auto-enrol, it used to be optional and I think it should still be.  There is also no way to exit out of the free trial, again pretty poor form by Atlassian.

I recommend familiarising yourself with the features that are paid features and try not to get used to them if you plan to only use the free version

Hello Yvonne,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

Trello offers different pricing plans, including a free plan and various paid plans like Standard, Premium, and Enterprise. You can learn more about these plans and their features here.

When you sign up for a paid plan (Standard, Premium, etc.), you’ll receive a 14-day free trial to explore the additional features. This trial is only for a limited time.

Once the free trial ends, if no payment details are entered, your workspace will automatically be downgraded back to the free plan, and you will lose access to the paid features. Your boards and data will remain intact.

For more details on what happens after the trial ends, you can check here.

Hope this clears things up!
