Finding or adding Public boards in Trello App

I have students who need to access our public Trello board but want to use the app. I haven't found a way to add a board to the app, only create a board, find a template or login and see my own boards.

Searching did not appear to work either.

Is it possible to add a public board either via its link or a search?

An alternate solution if you don't want to add them as a board member, they can star the board without being a member, and it'll appear in their starred boards section. More details here https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/starring-a-board/
