I would like to request an option or Power-Up that automatically displays each card’s position within its list.
For example, every list would number its cards independently:
(1) First card
(2) Second card
(3) Third card
When a card is moved or reordered, the numbers should update automatically. When a card is moved to another list, both lists should be renumbered, starting from (1).
This would be especially useful for prioritized task lists, waiting lists, project schedules, and boards with many cards. Existing card-number features display permanent card IDs, but these do not indicate the card’s current position.
Ideally, the numbers could be displayed without changing the actual card titles and could be enabled or disabled at board or list level.
Thank you for considering this feature.
Hi Jasminka,
You can try BettRello:
Chrome:
https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/bettrello/efoconifbpfoohefgnfpbpbhdeanlhng
Firefox:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bettrello/
It adds numbering to cards based on their position within each list, for example (1), (2), (3), which is much closer to what you described than Trello’s permanent card ID.
One thing to note: BettRello is a browser extension rather than a Trello Power-Up, so it runs locally in the browser and each user who wants to see the numbering would need to install it.
Hello @Jasminka Usanovic
The proper place to submit a feature request is here documented here. https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/submitting-feature-requests-for-trello/
Trello Team sometimes tracks the Community Forum, but you want to submit it in the proper place.
Best,
Arek 🤠
