We use Trello Premium as an important part of our daily business operations, with multiple team members creating, updating, moving, commenting on, and archiving cards throughout the day.
I would like to request a board permission that allows Board Admins to prevent regular Members from permanently deleting cards while still allowing them to archive cards.
Our members need normal access to create cards, edit information, add comments, move cards between lists, and archive completed cards. However, there is no reason they should need the ability to permanently delete a card.
Archived cards can contain important historical information, comments, attachments, and activity that a business may need to reference months or even years later. Accidentally or intentionally deleting one could permanently remove an important business record.
Ideally, Trello could add a Board Permission such as:
Who can permanently delete cards?
• Admins only
• Admins and Members
This would allow businesses to protect historical records without restricting employees from using Trello normally.
I believe this would be extremely useful for businesses using Trello for service operations, work orders, customer tracking, project management, and other workflows where retaining card history is important.
Please consider adding this permission in a future Trello update. It would be a very valuable addition to Trello Premium.
