in the last few weeks when i try to attach a document i get a message that says whoops! we can not upoad one or more attachments becasue thye were bigger than 0 MB?
Hi Inbal,
Welcome to the community! That "Whoops! We cannot upload... bigger than 0 MB" error message is definitely frustrating (and logically a bit confusing!). It sounds like a rendering bug in the Trello mobile app’s document scanner module where it fails to calculate the file size before starting the upload.
Since this started in the last few weeks, it might be related to a recent app update. Here are a few things you can try to resolve this:
Clear App Cache (Android): Go to your phone's Settings > Apps > Trello > Storage and tap "Clear Cache." This often fixes "stuck" temporary files created by the scanner. (If you are on iOS, try deleting and reinstalling the app).
Check App Permissions: Ensure Trello has full permission to access your Camera and Files/Media. Sometimes a partial permission block can cause the upload to "fail at 0 MB."
The "Gallery" Workaround: As a temporary test, try taking a photo of the document using your phone's native camera app first, then attach it to the card from your Gallery/Photos.
If this works, it confirms the issue is specifically within the Trello Document Scanner tool itself.
Network Toggle: Sometimes a weak Wi-Fi signal causes the upload to time out immediately, triggering that "0 MB" error. Try switching to Mobile Data and see if the scan uploads successfully.
Recommendation: Since you mentioned this has been happening for a few weeks, I highly recommend reporting this via the "Give Feedback" option inside the app (under your profile icon). Mention the exact phrase "Attachments bigger than 0 MB" so the developers can identify this specific bug in the scanner's logic.
I hope this gets fixed soon so you can get back to scanning!
