Email to Board - Automatically Populate Custom Field Date Based on Card Description Contents

Hi there! I am looking to do the following, however, I can't seem to find a solution using pattern matching or wild cards via automation:

1. Send an email to the board with the below 

FIRST DRAFT DUE: 30/07/2025

FINAL ART DUE: 02/08/2025

(FIRST DRAFT DUE & FINAL ART DUE ARE SET UP AS CUSTOM FIELDS ON OUR BOARD)

2. Automatically populate the "FIRST DRAFT DUE" & FINAL ART DUE custom fields based on the date information in the card description

I am just unsure on which triggers etc I need to use in order for this to work.

With Trello automation, replicating your exact use case is challenging, as there isn't a specific trigger or action to support extracting and populating custom fields directly from the card description.

One workaround involves enabling AI summarization in the Email-to-Board feature. This can add the dates as checklist items and set the due dates. However, please note that AI summaries currently do not populate custom fields.

While we don't officially endorse third-party Power-Ups, you might want to explore available Power-Ups that could help achieve this functionality.
