I just have no need for this product. Bugs me every single time and I think there must be a way to stop it from popping up for me to close it - time after time. :-(

I wish more people would highlight this. The Trello team know very well my feelings on the matter.
I understand this is a necessary side of being a supporting product and not the flagship product of an organisation. However, I think it insults the intelligence of Trello users to continually question their judgement on what product fits them best. I also think it shows how little Atlassian as a larger organisation understands Trello users.
One client recently said to me in response to Jira popups:
"Getting ads on a paid product is definitely a factor in our decline as a species"
