Do I need to add myself to each card in order to view in the Mobile Android Widget?

Hi all and thanks for your guidance in advance.

It seems that in order for my cards to appear in my Mobile Widget (Android) I need to add myself to the card as member.

Am i doing something wrong? is this how Trello operates and have you struggled with this challenge as well??

When I add the big widget (second in the list) on my android device, it says "assigned tasks" in the header right before having placed the widget. So, I guess, this is just how the widget works...

Did you find a solution to this? It's not reasonable that I'd have to add myself to ever single card just to be able to use the widget. I found Trello through Notion and thought it may be a slightly better alternative to the very similar Google Tasks app. But without widgets to view my lists I guess that's not the case. Wish I knew before I spent all this time transferring over.
