Hello - I used to have loom and I have just realised it's a paid service I wish to delete it. So I want to delete my whole Atlassian account but kept getting sent in circles. It’s horrific. Not sure why I even have bit bucket and Trello so would also like to delete those and every trace of my email. What steps do I take?
Cheers Frustrated…
I had a similar experience with Atlassian's account setup, where it wasn't immediately obvious which products were actually connected to the account.
I'd first check whether there are any active subscriptions or paid plans in Loom before deleting the Atlassian account. Also, Trello and Bitbucket can have their own data/workspaces associated with the same Atlassian identity, so deleting the account shouldn't be treated as simply uninstalling those apps.
If the account deletion page keeps sending you in circles, I'd contact Atlassian Support and specifically ask them to confirm which products and subscriptions are attached to the account and what needs to be closed first. I'd also make sure any important Trello boards or Bitbucket repositories are backed up before requesting permanent deletion.
You don't need to delete your entire Atlassian account to stop Loom charges, canceling the subscription is enough:
Atlassian Billing: Go to admin.atlassian.com → Billing → Subscriptions → Loom → Manage.
Legacy Loom Billing: Go to Loom → Workspace Settings → Plan & Billing → Manage Subscription.
An active paid subscription blocks account deletion, which is why you are being redirected. Once Loom is canceled, you can delete your full Atlassian account at https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile (Account preferences → Delete your account).
Note that deleting your account affects all connected Atlassian services (Trello, Bitbucket, etc.) after a 14-day grace period.
If self-service cancellation/deletion genuinely fails, use Loom Support / Atlassian account or billing support, not RA. Atlassian even documents a Personal Data/GDPR support route for cases where account deletion cannot be completed self-service.
Best,
Arek 🤠
