Hi there.

a change was made to my trello board yesterday. All my files were marked as complete and were crossed out.  And my 'DUE DATE' no longer has the option of checking off with a green check mark marking the file as complete. i rely on this due to date . is there a way i can get this back

Hi @Jenna - Like @Rasmus Wulff Jensen mentioned its part of the update we made to the due complete feature. We've heard the feedback from the community and are removing the strikethru on the text. The change should be out in the next day or so.

Thanks in advance for your patience!

Jenna, if you use the due date to complete a card and you have no further processes for the need of that card then the current feature will work, otherwise you can rework your cards on a Custom Field basis with automations

It is due to a new feature: https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/mark-a-card-as-complete/

Part of the feature can be turned off, but not the strike-through part at the moment, but since there has been a big backlash to the strike-through the Trello team is addressing it so hopefully soon it will be possible to disable it 🤞

Thank-you Rasmus, so once this is disabled the due date checkbox will be re-added?  i have multiple boards but not all of them have this issue

As far as I understand the due date checkbox is being rebranded to "Card completed" instead of Due Completed so for now the checbox is changing.

That being said given the huge amount of confusion and negative feedback in the community, it might change (Trello is currently evaluating).

My hope is that instead of a rebrand they make 2 checkboxes... One for Due-date that works like it always have and a new optional one that indicate if the work/card is done (with a timestamp indication when it was done for reporting)

But only time can tell what they choose

Sorry, I do not have insights into how and when Trello is changing/reverting this feature other than I saw a comment that they were adjusting it based on feedback (I'm just a forum community member like you)
