I'm not sure about the silver background - but if you're looking for a lighter colour, in both the Board Background and Card Covers options, you can choose to either:
Upload an Image: You could upload an image with just the colour you're looking for - or a blank canvas to have no colour
Search for Photos: Utilising Unsplash, you can find a photo which has brighter colours or is mainly white. I searched for "white" and found some good options :)
