Convert checklist items into unique cards with a button

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a way to use card buttons to convert checklist items into unique cards in a specific list and then create links back to the original card. I'm able to set this up so that the checklist items convert to cards and the original items are replaced with links however if the button is clicked again all the checklist links are copied into new cards and links created to the new cards which then no longer makes sense.

Is there a way to prevent the button from functioning if the checklist items are already links? Alternatively is anyone aware of an undo button for Trello automations?

@Brendan Richardson You will not be able to do it with a button since you will not be able to associate the button with an item. You can create a automation to drag it to another checklist to trigger action.
