Comments disappearing when moving cards between boards

We use two Trello boards, each containing the same members. I just noticed that when I move cards from Board 2 to Board 1, some of the most recent comments are removed. But, when I move from Board 1 to Board 2 they are not. I checked our automation and there is no automation to remove comments. Any ideas?
