Closing a board

I was a guest on two boards. The person who originally owned the workspace and created the boards has since deleted her account so I am now listed as the only person on the two boards and admin. However I cannot leave the board as an admin needs to remain, and the option to delete or close the board is not appearing. How can I get rid of the boards? Thanks

Hello @Helen 

Trello won't let you leave a board if you are the sole admin, as every board requires at least one. Instead, you can shut it down by opening the menu and selecting "Close board."

If you want it gone permanently, you can delete it via a web browser after it is closed. Alternatively, you can invite another user, make them an admin, and then leave the board yourself.

thanks for the reply but Close Board is not an option on the menu for some reason. Any idea why?

On Trello web, make sure you are checking the exact desktop path: Show menu > More > Close board. If you are the admin, the option should be there.

Because the original workspace owner deleted their account, this is likely a lingering backend issue. There is too much guessing here, so I have flagged your post for Trello Support to look into it directly. You can try a quick test in an incognito window, but if the option remains missing, support will need to step in and fix the board state for you.
