Character limit for Gmail extension

I am using the Trello extension for Gmail to allow me to create card directly from my emails. 

Whilst the preview of these cards in Gmail look fine, with the full email being pasted into the description field, when I save the card across to my Trello board it only shows the first 200 characters. 

The emails I am creating cards for are only 1000 - 2000 characters long so I believe should fall into the description field's character limit. 

Is there a further restriction with the extension?

Could you run one small test to help isolate it?

Create a new plain-text email containing more than 300 characters, without a signature, images or quoted email history.
Open it with the Trello add-on.
Add a unique marker after character 200 in the description field, such as TEST-AFTER-200.
Create the card and check whether the marker reaches Trello.

Yes this works with a plain text email without a signature, the whole body of the email is copied across. 

I have tested a few more emails and it seems to be sporadic. Some longer emails with signatures copy over ok whereas others do not. 

The preview of the card in Gmail is also not always consistent I have since noticed, sometimes the emails are being cut off here too. 

Do you think this is related to something in the signatures?

Yes, the signature could definitely be triggering it!

It’s usually the underlying HTML structure.

Elements like tables, embedded logos, legal disclaimers, or nested reply threads can easily mess with how the add-on extracts the email body.
