This has been an ongoing issues for many months - we moved cards (new client enquiries) to a different list once their status has changed and they revert to the old position every time we close Trello and re-open it. Is this because we are using the free version and Trello is pushing us to upgrade to Premium, or a bug, or us doing something wrong?
It could be that you are logged into multiple computers using the same account and/or the internet connection is slow. That can cause the updates to not sync.

Adding onto what Gaurav said, which is a great point, can you check if automations aren't making these changes?
Have you checked the Activity logs for the cards that moved to see what / who the logs are saying moved the cards?
