Cannot Add Comments to a Card

I am not able to add comments to a card like I used to be able to in a previous version of Trello. Even when I click on the Comments and Activity icon, it brings up the window but nowhere does it allow me to add a comment. This is a new set-up for me (new company with new login credentials) and the interface looks a bit different. Any assistance is appreciated. Thank you.

Initially sounds like Commenting for that board is either set to "Disabled" or maybe (but I guess less likely) to "Members only" where you'd be an Observer.

Check your role on in the space, on the board and in the board settings. Did you find the board in the space or in your boards, or were you given a link?

Seeing you're new to the place, it could also be you are a member of the space but nonetheless the board is private and/or the board is set to not allow self-join.

After ten years, I still find these variables hard to crack sometimes and it all depends on what policies (or lack thereof) your new employer had going so far.

Thanks so much. It was the setting for Comments. It was Disabled. It has since been changed, and I can now add comments.
