I would like to know how many folks have been added to a certain board in the last year. Folks join using a link and are sometimes added by admins.

I did a bit of digging, but I'm afraid we don't have a built-in way to easily aggregate that type of data directly through Trello.

The best workaround I can suggest is to open the board menu and look through the activity history.

1. If a person is added to a board by the admin, it will tell you who added them, and when it happened.

2. If the person joined via link, it will just say that they Joined this board

You can find the activity history for a board in the Board menu: https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/the-board-menu/
