Butler rule to copy card on move and preserve its position in the list

I have a Repeating list for tasks that I perform many times, such as learning a new word of a foreign language. When I move a card from this list into the Today list for tasks that I chose to do today, I want to preserve the original card in its place.

I could create a butler rule: "When a card is moved out of list Repeating by me, copy the card without comments to the top of list Repeating".

However, I want to preserve the place of my card in the Repeating list, not change it to the top or the bottom of the list. Is there a way to accomplish this?

Are you looking to stick to drag and drop of the card to your Today list?

• You could add a Butler button to copy the card on click
• You can use ctrl+c, ctrl+v to copy and paste a whole card, which is quicker than clicking through to copy
• If the recurring list is fairly fixed, you could find a way to rank the cards (by number for example).  Then you could use your suggested automation but add "and sort the card by title ascending" to resume the correct order
