Hi,
I was frequently using a board but today I received the message that it has been closed, I should contact to administrator. As we created it with my exgirlfriend back then, I just called her to reopen it, but she has been inactive for years and her trello account has been deleted. I myself was an admin on the board but have not received any notifications that I should move it to my workspace. Could you please help us reopen / move it? It contains 10 years of very important personal data.
I love your product and am myself a daily, core user so you could imagine my heart skipping a beat when I saw the message but I can still access a few cards through notifications so at least I know that the data is still there and it should be easy to move/restore it.
I can ask my ex to re-register with her old email address if it is necessary for your recovery process.
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
Attila
Hi @Attila Murvai ,
Have you tried the following process to reopen the board: Reopen a closed board? If you are/were a board admin, you should be able to reopen it.
Cheers,
Tobi
Hi Tobi,
thanks for the fast reply. It seems that I might have been wrong in my initial post because now it says that I was not an admin. :/ It is weird because I had no limitation in use whatsoever in the last years.
Should I ask my ex to re-register or that won't work and only Atlassian / Trello employees can fix it for me? I have an immense amount of personal data there (even health related which I will need access to in the coming days). Do we need to send this request somewhere else or is this the right place?

Good thing you've checked @Attila Murvai
It would be best (and easiest) if your ex could access their account and reopen the board. I mean, that's the cleanest solution.
However, if the old account is deleted, then it will be tricky (not sure if it will be possible at all). If the account is deleted, then re-registering will actually create a new, separate account from the previous one.
There are a couple of articles you could follow:
I'm not a heavy user myself, so someone else may have had more experience in these cases 🤔

I did go through those articles -- the main issue is that workspaces were not really a thing back then I think (or maybe we just did not realize). So we just created boards and shared them. I kept using our main board since then. So I am a member of the board with hundreds of cards but it belongs to her workspace.
We did not try to re-register with her mail address because I am afraid that it might create a completely new user entity and it might even trigger some deletion of data.
Only a few hours after closing me out of this board, but I'm already getting desperate. I can't even find a way to contact the official support -- do I have to upgrade my subscription for that for some premium? I would even do that in a second

Yeah, I'd probably recommend going for Trello Premium free trial > this should 'unlock' the ability to raise a support ticket here: Atlassian Support and they should be able to help out (and also check the status of that board + recommend next steps).
Once you get this resolved, you can downgrade back to the free plan. 👀
I could also reach out to forum support here as well, but they will probably take 2 business days to check this out and reply.
