Hello Trello team,
I believe I have identified a rendering bug affecting cards near the bottom of lists.
Some cards in my Trello boards no longer display certain elements on the front of the card:
The colored label assigned to the card is not displayed.
The button/checkbox used to mark the card as completed is not displayed.
Opening the card does not solve the problem. Even when I mark the card as completed from inside the card, the card front does not update correctly.
The important point is that the problem is position-dependent.
Reproduction:
Open a board containing a long list of cards.
Scroll down towards the bottom of the list.
Some cards near the bottom are displayed without their colored labels and without the completion button.
Open one of the affected cards. The label is still correctly assigned to the card, confirming that the data itself has not disappeared.
Move the affected card from the bottom of the list to the top of the same list.
The card still displays incorrectly immediately after being moved.
Perform a hard browser refresh (Cmd + Shift + R on Mac).
After the refresh, the same card now displays correctly because it is at the top of the list: the colored label and the completion button are both visible again.
This strongly suggests that the issue is related to how Trello renders cards depending on their position within a long list, rather than to the card data or its configuration.
Additional observations:
The affected cards were created several weeks or months ago and previously worked normally.
No relevant card or board settings were changed.
I am the only administrator of the account.
The issue affects only some cards, particularly cards towards the bottom of lists.
The labels are still present when the affected cards are opened.
The completion function is still available inside the card, but its state is not correctly reflected on the card front.
A normal browser refresh does not resolve the problem.
A hard refresh does not resolve the problem when the affected card remains near the bottom of the list.
Moving the card to the top and then performing a hard refresh makes the missing elements appear again.
Expected behavior:
All cards should consistently display their assigned colored labels and the completion button regardless of their position within a list.
Actual behavior:
Cards near the bottom of long lists can lose these UI elements. Moving the card to the top and then refreshing the board causes the elements to render correctly again.
I have not provided access to my boards because they contain private information. I can, however, provide screenshots or a screen recording using a test/example board if this would help reproduce the issue.
Could you please confirm whether this is a known Trello Cloud rendering issue and whether a fix is currently being investigated?
Thank you.
I can confirm that I'm suffering from the same bug, similar problems and similar behaviour from our Trello board.
