Anyone else HATE the new format? Anyway to us the old view? The labels which I use most often is now an extra step for some reason. Side comments is not better as the below comments made perfect sense

the new user interface is atrocious. A total downgrade in every aspect. This is not software for serious planners / coders.

the thing that really gets me though is, WHY? WHO asked for this? nobody did. Think about the time and money wasted on redesigning the interface. All the pointless jobs, wasted hours, wasted money. It really boggles the mind.

😂 Hate is such a strong word....It's just a piece of software.

In truth, I would be surprised if they reverse the decision but I've been wrong before...

Labels is 3 clicks instead of 2now (when there are no other labels) but the time difference between 2 and 3 clicks is negligible. You can also hit the L key on the keyboard to add a label far quicker than both options...

The comments will be personal preference but one of the biggest complaints I got before was about the comments being so far down a card, especially when people have a big description, custom fields and long checklists. Having to the activity to the side is generally standard for most productivity software because and that must be with good reason. I would be annoyed if they changed this back to the old design.

Not trying to defend Trello, I'm tired of doing that...I do empathise with yours and everyone's issues with the new design and there are some parts of what they are doing I don't agree with.  But,  although I've had a longer time to adapt to it compared to you and have reached a point where none of them really impact my use of it, I do think the 2 examples you gave are not a reason to HATE it.

I've been outspoken here recently because of the Beta, which I worry is going to confuse esp. our observers and they're going to be sending me emails like this because they will be lost.

---"Where is the little thing I clicked and now my thing is bigger!"

Been on Trello since 2012 and with our tiny team on Business/Premium since 2015. I'm so familiar with it now, that I just find ways to work around stuff, and forget the inconsistencies and quirks. That said, the product has also come very far.

What does become obvious though, when you start paying attention again, is how

  • features have become very dispersed over time
  • a lot of settings still lack granularity
  • admins have very little control over specifics
  • core fundamentals are not getting much love

Generally there seems to be this misalignment between personal preferences, board settings and card interfaces. One thing changes for everyone, another just for me--just happens I'd've wanted it other way round.

And I haven't seen much work done on search, views, user management or label management. We do have a Completed status on every card now. And Stickers are still around.

Oh well, I could do with more improvements and less cosmetics, but I'm not even sure we're the target market anymore.

Guess reading your comment just gave me that calming sense of letting go, so thanks for that.
