Ever since the new design my workflow is 100% worse because of how the activity bar won't stay put on the right side of the screen like it used to.
Have complained several times, Trello doesn't seem to care if it gets fixed. Is there any solution?

You're right, that is annoying!
I'm not sure it'll be a priority to fix but I recommend using the feedback channels in Trello to highlight ti.
