Additional premium charge

My boss and I both have premium licenses. I added him to a board and was charged an additional premium license fee to do so. 

1. How do I cancel and get a refund for this unnecessary charge?

2. How can we work collaboratively without incurring additional costs since we both have premium licenses?

Hi @Edlyn Rochon and Welcome to the Community!

Trello Premium subscriptions are tied to a specific Workspace, not to individual user accounts.

So even if both you and your boss have Premium on your own separate Workspaces, adding someone to a board in your Workspace counts as adding a new collaborator to your subscription, which triggers an additional seat charge.

You have two options to work together without the extra charge:

  • Work in the same Workspace — If you both join a single shared Workspace with one Premium subscription, you're covered under the same plan. No duplicate charges. This is the intended setup for teams.
  • Use each other's boards as guests — If you need to keep separate Workspaces, the person being invited can be added as a single-board guest without affecting the seat count. However, multi-board guests do count as collaborators.

You can contact Atlassian Support directly to request a refund for the extra charge.
