Adding new members after removing others - is there an additional step needed?

I only have 7 board members but when I try to add number 8, I'm getting this message:

Board members 7

"Looks like you need more space! You have reached your 10 member limit"

I did have 10 members but removed some, so is there something else I need to do?

Please note that the 10-collaborator limit is at the workspace level and not an individual board level. Collectively across all your boards you might have reached the 10 user limit. You can easily check the number of collaborators by going to the workspace page. Details here: https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/workspace-user-limit/
