Adding Member Name to Custom Field

I want to set up an automation that puts the member name in a custom field, but {memberfullname} is not working. Is there a way to do this? Am I missing the field name?

{memberfullname} only works when the trigger is "when a member is added". 

What is your trigger?

I tried multiple triggers. Some were moving it to a certain list. But I did a basic, when a member is added, just put their name in the custom field. I could get it to work with my username or my personal full name, but never the member name.

Nope, that isn't doing it either.
