3 trello users have paid subscriptions and collaborate on boards, but each has to pay more?

I am very confused by Trello billing.  Three people, myself and two others have Trello Premium subscriptions.  We are collaborating on several boards, but we *each* pay 3x the single user amount because we collaborate on boards together?  This seems wrong.  Why does each of us have to pay more, or have I set something up wrong?

Hi @Sol Hill ,

Welcome to the Community! I assume that the boards are in different workspaces. Can you please try this?

  • Create one Workspace
  • Put all project boards inside that Workspace
  • Have the three of you as members of that Workspace
  • Pay for 3 Premium seats total

Details on how billing works with Trello Premium and Standard:

I already have a workspace of my own.  If I join someone else's boards, does that mean I have to pay more?

I had created two boards to show two other people who need to organize projects and ideally I would access them two to hold them accountable.  I do not want them to have access to my workspace and see my other boards. It sounds like I can keep them all in my workspace if I can share only the relevant boards, not everything in my workspace.  But ideally I would like to transfer ownership of these boards to one of the other two people and be a member not an admin.

How would I be billed in these two scenarios?  If I understand correctly, in the first, I would only pay the single premium subscription amount.  In the second, would I pay for two subscription????

I currently seem to have two workspaces, the second being for the other person's projects.  Can I transfer ownership of that workspace to them, so I do not pay for two workspaces? If so, how?

Upon closer inspection, it seems that I have transferred those boards to the proper owner... and the workspace I set up for the project is now empty. There are no boards in it, so how do I get rid of/delete this workspace?

Ok I am spamming questions here, sorry for this, but now I discovered that the boards are in MY workspace and the workspace for the other person's projects are empty.  I did make the other person the admin of those boards and I am just a member.  So I do not understand why they are in my workspace.  Is there a way to actually transfer "ownership" of a board, by which I mean transfer it to their account?

But then, maybe I would be charged two seats because I have my workspace and would be a visitor in the other person's workspace. If that is the case I come back to how do I delete the empty workspace so I am not charged two seats?
