My Thoughts on Atlassian University: Learning, Certifications and Kudos
I have spent quite a lot of time in Atlassian University, especially while preparing for certifications, and overall I think it is a really valuable learning platform.
It is a great place to learn something new, refresh your existing knowledge and prepare for certification exams π Even with extensive hands-on experience, Atlassian University is useful for revisiting the main concepts, filling occasional knowledge gaps and discovering new features and recommended practices.
π What I love about Atlassian University
There are courses for different products, roles and experience levels, covering everything from Jira, Confluence and JSM to automation, ITSM, security, migrations, Rovo, Loom and Forge.
What positively surprised me was that the content is not limited only to Atlassian product configuration. There are also broader and very practical topics, such as Best practices for writing AI prompts and How to improve team collaboration.
I did not expect to find this kind of content there, but feel that it makes the platform much more interesting. It is not only about learning where to click in Jira but it also helps you think about how to work better and collaborate more effectively with greater confidence β¨
I also like the mix of content formats. Quizzes are especially useful for checking whether you actually understood the topic or were just confidently clicking βNextβ π
Atlassian University is valuable outside certification preparation too. Sometimes you just need a quick refresher before a customer meeting, project or workshop, and it is helpful to have official learning material available in one place.
π Learning also earns Kudos
Another fun bonus is that completing Atlassian Learning content can also earn you Community Kudos.
Completing an eligible course gives you a course badge and 300 Kudos points, while completing an eligible Learning Path gives you another badge and 500 Kudos points.
The Kudos points are obviously not the main reason to study, but learning something useful and receiving a shiny badge afterwards is still a pretty good deal IMO ππ«
π One thing I only discovered later
While writing this post, I realised that Atlassian University already has a really useful My learning area.
It gives a clear overview of the courses and lessons you have started, shows progress percentages, lets you filter the content and includes a separate learning history. You can also download completion PDFs, which is a nice touch π
I had used Atlassian University quite a lot before noticing this page, so it was a genuinely positive surprise.
I would still enjoy seeing a small βWhatβs newβ section with recently added or updated content, especially because Atlassian products tend to change quickly. But overall, the My learning page gives a much better overview than I initially thought.

My overall experience with Atlassian University has been really positive. The content is regularly updated, new courses keep appearing, and there is always something useful to discover π
I often recommend it to my team of Atlassian specialists, both for learning new topics and for refreshing areas we do not work with every day. I use it the same way myself, especially when I want to revisit a topic before a customer discussion, project or certification exam.
And honestly, earning Kudos points along the way is a fun little extra boost. Learning is useful already, but learning plus shiny digital points and fun badges is even better π€©
