I created a new account and tried to create an api key. But no api key is being generated.
Is there a waiting period since the opening of a new account to the time one can create an API key?

Users can generate a token. The steps are described in the link below.manage-api-tokens-for-your-atlassian-account Account Verification is required to create or manage API token.
